The goal of the office expansion and renovation at Price Industries’ corporate headquarters in Winnipeg was to introduce a modern design to the space, including open-plan workspaces and areas for structured meetings as well as impromptu discussions, quiet zones and glass-fronted boardrooms, to create a residentially inspired and comfortable setting for employees.
The new space acts as a living showroom of Price products for the 1,500 expected annual visitors to Price Industries and Price Research Centre North. The renovation project also served as an opportunity for Price to update the mechanical systems and install new air purification technology, which exceeds ASHRAE ventilation standards and ensures that supply air is clear of contaminants.
The open-concept lounge is the focal point of the new space, with skylights, plant life and comfortable seating to welcome staff into the social area. The complementary ceilings and building services, often overlooked during the design process, were optimized and thoughtfully incorporated into the space early on in the design to achieve seamless product integrations and meet architectural intent. PARC’s Weave Radiant Textile Panels and Node Flush Channels are installed in tandem to integrate lights, speakers, occupancy sensors and other building services within three rafts located above the seating area.

In the executive boardroom dedicated to mindful collaboration and client conferencing, Node Linear Lights and Sprinklers mounted in Flush Channels are installed alongside Price Noise Control’s Acoustic Panels. The sleek, minimal ceiling is in sync with the calm, neutral tones of the space.
